Molly’s has a wealth of history behind it. Built in the early 19th Century it was once an RIC station. It became a hotel during the troubles and during the 20s sheltered IRA.
After the 20s it became a pub and was known as O’Donovan’s for many years. When it changed hands in the 1990s it was named Molly’s because of the song, “My Own Irish Molly.”
The local train station used to be a stone’s throw away. Molly’s has been a focal point for the region for over 200 years and that tradition continues today.
Molly’s Bar & Restaurant has had an refurbishment in recent years and extensions in the basement and on the the top-floor and roof. The premises now incorporates a Sports Bar, Restaurant, Nightclub and Function Room & Balcony.
