The Ennis Trad Festival is a festival for those who love to hear (or play) Irish Traditional music of the highest quality in its most natural setting. The festival brings together the very best of Irish traditional musicians, singers and dancers in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
We’re delighted to announce that this year’s programme is shaping up nicely and we can confirm another quality five days of traditional music at Ennis Trad Festival 2012.
Here’s a sample of what we’re offering this year – we’ll be finely tuning our programme over the next while with dates, venues and prices.
The headline acts are as follows:
Thursday night: Dan Brudair, Angelina Carberry, Seamus O’Kane and Donal Clancy.
Friday night: Frankie Lane and Paul Kelly with special guests.
Saturday night: The John Carty Festival Band with guests followed by the Trad Disco.
Sunday night: Dermot Byrne, Bríd Harper and Steve Cooney.
Monday night: Le Chéile with special guests.
In addition, the Great Céilí Band Challenge is back in Glór on Saturday evening and earlier on that day, the (in)famous trad quiz will take place.
As usual, there’ll be CD launches and this year, we’ve got Eileen O’Brien; Eamon Cotter; Com Gannon; Caitlín Nic Gabhann; Nóirín Lynch; Anne Kirrane; Socks in the Frying Pan and more to come. Dates and venues to be confirmed.
Masterclasses are returning this year and we’ll be announcing instruments and tutors in the coming weeks.
And of course, we’ll be catering for dancers as always with a céilí mór which will take place on the Sunday afternoon of the festival – we’ll be announcing the band soon.
