Carrick on Shannon is a wonderful world class destination for angling, there are 41 lakes are within a 6-mile radius. Located on the River Shannon, the stretch of water surrounding the town is well developed with plenty of Bream, Roach and Pike available. Hartely Bridge, the Mud Flats and Battle Bridge are close by and contain good stocks. There are good facilities at Drumharlow lake where Rudd and Roach are most common and Shanballybaun Lake to the north have plenty of Bream, Rudd and Hybirds too. Carrickevy Lake and Lough Bran are smaller and both are good for Bream and Tench. Angling is well facilitated in all these locations.
