This looped 10k walk takes in stunning scenery as well as the great Portumna Castle and the remains of a 15th century Cistercian abbey. It is complete with forest and lakeside walks and is accessed on the southern tip of the town by road and by its marina. The Demesne was once part of the Portumna castle estate. The forest is home to Deer and other wildlife along with an exotic array of flora and fauna which inject vibrant colour into every view.
It is a moderate walk but you are advised to dress sensibly.There are signposts and trails to aid your trek.
