Boyle, County Roscommon, is nestled between the foot of the Curlew mountains and Lough Key on the main pass connecting the plains of Connacht with the North.
Boyle Arts Festival began as the vision of a group of local people and has now blossomed into an annual event with a significant reputation earning it a place as one of the best festivals in Ireland each summer.
The festival has been the winner of several national awards and welcomes new and innovative contributions. Events include a major art exhibition of works by contemporary Irish Artists, Classical and Traditional Music, Literary events, Poetry, Drama, Lectures and Children’s events.
It has annually purchased works from its main Art Exhibition to add to the Boyle Civic Collection, which now has over 250 works by leading and emerging Irish Artists. These are permanently on display in King House, Boyle, Co. Roscommon but make way in July for the Arts Festival exhibition.
Elsewhere in Boyle, empty retail units in the town will also be functioning as temporary art spaces.
The popular local/open art exhibition will be held again in the Church of Ireland school and anyone wanting to exhibit can find more details and an entry form under the local art tab.
The Festival seeks to use all possible performance spaces in our historic town including Boyle Abbey, King House and our churches.
We are inviting you to join us in celebrating creativity.
