The premises itself contains 3 unique style bars. The main bar and restaurant boasts of panoramic views of the River Shannon, the Bridge and the Napoleonic fortifications. Enjoy a quiet drink around one of three unique fireplaces or study some ancient memorabilia such as receipts and newspaper articles dating back to the 1800’s, the choice is yours! The old bar is one of Ireland’s greatest hidden gems. Its kitchen boasts the only functioning Openhearth Victorian Fireplace in the British Isles. Steeped in history, the old bar operated during the reign of Queen Victoria, the longest reigning female monarch in history.
Our friendly, family run bar is a top music venue and boasts of various different music genres. With live music up to 5 nights a week and 3 different music venues one can be sure to have a great night at Lukers. What better place to listen to Traditional Irish music than in our old kitchen around the fireplace? Or watch as top live bands play brilliant music for all ages with their backs to the Shannon as the sun sets just over the 17 stone arches of the bridge.
The restaurant offers a wide range of delicious home-made meals and desserts including our famous Luker’s Burger. Lukers, situated just kilometers from the historic site of Clonmacnoise is a welcome stopping point for tour boats and buses and has the facilities to park large buses. The owner, John Joe carries out regular tours of our historic premises and can organize a guided tour through the Irish Blackwater Bog and boat trips to Clonmacnoise with advanced booking
